Quality

Quality

Our most important goal is the maintenance of consistent, first-class services

To help us achieve our goals and ensure complete customer satisfaction, we employ an up-to-date quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001 daily and practically adapt when needed. We understand quality management as a task of guidance and each employee is jointly responsible for the quality of their work. A continuous improvement process in all parts of the company helps us to uncover possible gaps and eliminate existing weak points. Setting realistic annual targets and their achieving them are a substantial component of our firm culture and have been since we were founded.

Our Quality Policy

We fulfill the demands of our customers and, where possible exceed them. Our employees are regularly trained in relation to their designated role. Employees conscientiously apply our management system to their job. We utilize “best practice” preventive methods to deliver our “Right First Time” Strategy. We employ a continual improvement process with published quality and environmental objectives. We reduce environmental impact and try, if possible to avoid it entirely. We ensure that the organization conforms to all valid legal and statutory regulations.

System Quality Control

Our most important goal is the maintenance of consistent, first-class products and service. This is carried out through high-quality standards in all areas of the lifecycle of our products, from the initial stages of development through to the various customer-friendly services that we offer. We work hand-in-hand with our clients and through this collaboration are able to ensure that we meet their expectations and never tire of striving to further improve both products and the manufacturing process.

In addition, we comply with the highest level of regulatory and statutory requirements governing our business in the markets in which we operate. The complete and total adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Standards as well as to those regulations set out for Medical Products in ISO 13485, guarantees that we meet normative and regulatory requirements. Through the control of all documentation relating to the development and manufacturing processes, we create products that fulfill all the requirements and demands of efficiency and economic viability and profitability. Our Traceability System enables a fast and explicit identification and traceability of every finished product, across the delivery and supply chain through to the individual component parts.

Each member of our highly-qualified staff carries in the forefront of their thoughts and actions the desire to reach 100% quality in all our finished products, which enables us to successfully fulfill the goal of achieving complete customer satisfaction.

Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)

In January 2020, SDG Lines has been awarded the full Authorised Economic Operator (AEO-F) status in Italy, France and Spain. The status of the Authorised Economic Operator applies to all economic operators and their business partners playing a role in the international supply chain, i.e. producers, exporters, forwarders, warehouse keepers, customs agents, carriers, importers who are involved in activities covered by the relevant customs legislation and are eligible in terms of reliability and security in the supply chain.

The AEO concept is based on the Customs-to-Business partnership introduced by the World Customs Organisation (WCO).
SDG Lines works in close cooperation with customs authorities to assure the common objective of supply chain security and are entitled to enjoy benefits throughout the EU.
The EU established its AEO concept based on the internationally recognised standards and is a partnership programme between the customs authority and the EO.
This implies that there must always be a relationship between customs and SDG Lines. This relationship must be based on the principles of mutual transparency, correctness, fairness and responsibility.
A legal basis for it in 2008 through the 'security amendments' to the "Community Customs Code" (CCC) (Regulation (EC) 648/2005) and its implementing provisions.
The programme, which aims to enhance international supply chain security and to facilitate legitimate trade, is open to all supply chain actors. It covers economic operators authorised for customs simplification (AEOC), security and safety (AEOS) or a combination of the two.
The AEO status granted to SDG Lines by Spain, France and Italy is recognised by the customs authorities in all Member States.
AEO benefits are an integral part of the EU legislation governing the AEO status. The AEO benefits, dependant on the type of the authorisation, are:
  • Easier admittance to customs simplifications
  • Fewer physical and document-based controls related to security & safety related to other customs legislation
  • Prior notification in case of selection for physical control (related to safety and security)
  • Prior notification in case of selection for customs control (related to other customs legislation)
  • Priority treatment if selected for control
  • Possibility to request a specific place for customs controls
  • Indirect benefits
This implies:
  • Improved relations with Customs and other government authorities
  • Reduced theft and losses
  • Fewer delayed shipments
  • Improved planning
  • Improved customer service
  • Improved customer loyalty
  • Lower inspection costs of suppliers and increased co-operation
  • Mutual Recognition with third countries
